Menorca LED Floor Lamp - Black Nickel

The Menorca is a slim LED floor lamp in black nickel. Its arched steel stem curves over at the top to hold an egg-shaped shade. A clear outer shell wraps around a white inner cylinder of satin glass, which diffuses the integrated LED so you see a soft glow rather than a bright point. The lamp stands 165cm tall, 29cm long and 22cm wide, and rests on a round, flat base 28cm in diameter. It is rated IP20, which means it has no protection against water, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms.

The stem is slim and the base sits flat and low, so the lamp takes up very little floor space. That makes it a good fit for a living room corner, the end of a sofa, a reading chair or a bedroom. It gives 700lm from 7W, a useful amount of light for its modest wattage. The colour temperature runs from 2200K to 6500K. The warm end gives a deep, warm amber for winding down in the evening, and the cool end gives a crisp daylight white for reading or close work. That range suits anyone who wants one lamp to cover both moods.

The body is steel in a black nickel finish, a dark metallic tone that sits comfortably beside warm woods and cool greys. There is no button to find in the dark: a touchless sensor switch lets you operate the lamp without touching it. The light is also dimmable, so you can bring it down to a gentle glow late at night. It runs on 220-240V mains. Packed, it weighs 5.075KG, which is worth knowing before you carry the box to an upstairs room. Glass and steel both wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth, which keeps the shade clear and the black nickel looking its best.
