Mayflower 6 Light Chandelier - Olde Bronze

The Mayflower is a 660mm diameter chandelier carrying six E27 bulbs arranged on curved arms radiating from a central column, each fitted with an etched amber glass shade held in a yoke-mount bracket. The frame is finished in olde bronze, a warm-toned antiqued metal finish that sits between brushed bronze and oil-rubbed bronze in tone. Decorative cast tension knobs at the joints and turned detailing on the central column reference traditional gas-light fittings from the early 20th century.

Designed for dining rooms with tables seating 6-8 people, entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, and larger living rooms where a traditional centrepiece is needed, the Mayflower provides ambient light through six independently-switched circuits (if wired accordingly) or as a single switched group. The 689mm minimum drop to 2214mm maximum drop range is adjusted during installation by shortening the 1524mm chain, allowing the chandelier to sit 700-900mm above a dining table or higher in a double-height entrance hall.

The etched amber glass diffuses the light from each bulb, reducing glare and casting a warm glow through the textured surface. The olde bronze finish on the metalwork shows intentional tonal variation and antiquing, giving each arm and bracket a lived-in appearance that pairs with period properties, country house interiors and traditional schemes in newer builds. At 660mm width the chandelier suits rooms of 4m x 4m or larger without dominating the space.

What bulbs does the Mayflower take?

The chandelier takes six E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs at 6-8W and 2700K to match the amber glass tone and traditional aesthetic.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 689mm minimum drop to 2214mm maximum drop is adjusted during installation by shortening the chain. For a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Higher ceilings in entrance halls can use the full chain length.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. LED bulbs rated as dimmable will work with compatible trailing-edge dimmers. Incandescent or halogen bulbs up to 60W per socket are inherently dimmable with standard dimmers.

What size room does it suit?

At 660mm diameter the Mayflower suits rooms of approximately 4m x 4m or larger. It pairs well with dining tables seating 6-8 people, or as a centrepiece in entrance halls and larger living rooms in traditional or period properties.
