Description

The Mayflower is a 3-light chandelier in an olde bronze finish with etched amber glass shades held in yoke-mount glass holders. Each arm extends from a central turned column with cast tension knob detailing, and the three upward-facing shades take standard E27 bulbs (sold separately) up to 60W each. The 406mm diameter and 432mm fitting height suit dining tables, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher.

The chandelier hangs on a chain-and-cable suspension system with a maximum drop of 2027mm from ceiling to the base of the fitting, adjustable on installation to suit the room height. The minimum drop is 502mm, which positions the chandelier 700-900mm above a dining table surface in rooms with 2.4-2.7m ceilings. The olde bronze finish has a darker, aged patina compared to polished or brushed bronze, giving the metalwork a warmer tone under both daylight and artificial light.

The etched amber glass shades diffuse light with a warm glow, softening the output from filament-style or warm LED bulbs. The yoke-mount holders and tension knob details give the chandelier a traditional character that pairs with period interiors, country homes and transitional spaces where traditional and contemporary elements meet. The metalwork is solid rather than hollow tubing, giving the fitting a 5.2kg weight that sits securely on the ceiling rose once installed.

The chandelier takes three standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the amber glass tone.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 502mm to 2027mm. For dining tables the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The chain can be shortened during installation to suit lower ceilings.

Is the Mayflower dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used. Standard dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulbs will dim when paired with a compatible dimmer switch on the lighting circuit. The chandelier itself has no built-in dimming electronics.

How is the amber glass cleaned?

The etched glass shades can be removed from the yoke-mount holders for cleaning. Wash in warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the etched finish.
