Description

The Maya is an LED wall light with a horseshoe-shaped clear glass diffuser featuring a heavily textured outer surface and a gold-finished metal canopy. The glass forms a continuous crescent approximately 320mm wide and 133cm tall when suspended from its circular wall plate, with an integrated 10W LED strip running along the inner curve of the glass. The textured surface fractures and diffuses the light across the glass, creating a wash of warm 3000K light against the wall behind.

Designed for accent wall positions, hallways, bedroom feature walls and stairwells where a vertical light feature adds visual interest without taking up floor or table space. The 133cm drop suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m when wall-mounted at or below 1.5m from the floor. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor applications. The gold finish is applied to the aluminium canopy and mounting bracket, providing a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass hardware, warm timber tones and neutral wall colours.

The glass diffuser weighs approximately 1.2kg and is suspended from the canopy by two slender metal cables, giving the horseshoe shape a floating appearance once mounted. The textured glass is moulded rather than hand-cut, so the pattern is consistent across production runs. The integrated LED is rated at 10W and 3000K, producing a warm white light similar to a traditional halogen bulb. The LED is non-replaceable but carries a three-year warranty covering premature failure.

No. The LED is integrated into the glass assembly and is not user-replaceable. However, Maytoni provides a three-year warranty covering premature LED failure, and the typical lifespan of the LED is rated at 25,000+ hours of use.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The Maya carries an IP20 rating, which limits it to dry indoor locations only. It is not splash-proof or suitable for use in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.

What wall colour works best with the gold finish?

The gold finish pairs well with neutral wall colours including off-white, warm grey, taupe and soft beige. Darker walls such as charcoal or navy create higher contrast with the gold metalwork and the warm glow of the glass when lit.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off the fitting at the wall and allow the glass to cool. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the textured surface and do not use glass cleaners or sprays near the LED strip.
