Two E27 bulb sockets sit vertically inside the glass enclosure, visible through the clear panels, with the frame providing both structure and mounting for the glass. The IP54 rating protects the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for external walls on porches, patios, beside entrance doors and along garden pathways, the Maya sits 160mm proud of the wall when fitted and projects enough to cast light sideways across masonry or render. The clear glass allows full light output from whichever bulbs are fitted, making it suitable both for ambient porch lighting with warm filament-style LEDs and for functional pathway lighting with higher-lumen cool-white bulbs. The graphite finish weathers well in UK coastal and urban environments and pairs with both traditional brick and modern render finishes.

The vertical arrangement of the two E27 sockets allows for asymmetric bulb pairing if needed — a warmer lower bulb for close-range visibility and a brighter upper bulb for throw — though most installations use matched pairs. The metal frame uses welded corner joints rather than bolted assembly, reducing the number of potential water ingress points. What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (the '5') and water splashes from any direction (the '4'). It can be installed in exposed outdoor locations including under eaves, on open porches and on garden walls, but is not rated for direct submersion or high-pressure washing.

What bulbs does it take?

The Maya takes two standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED filament bulbs between 4W and 8W for decorative porch lighting, or brighter 10-12W LEDs for pathway and security lighting. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type — check manufacturer guidance.

Can it be fitted to a rendered wall?

Yes. The 3.2kg weight requires appropriate wall plugs rated for masonry or render. Use plugs designed for outdoor installation and ensure they penetrate into the brick or blockwork behind the render, not just the render layer itself.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the bulbs fitted and the dimmer used. If you fit dimmable LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer on the circuit, the Maya can be dimmed. Non-dimmable bulbs will not work with a dimmer and may flicker or fail.
