Description

A candle holder, 39cm tall, in matt black. At 11cm wide it is about the width of a laptop. An odd number of candles at different heights reads as arranged; an even number at the same height reads as a place setting. Both are useful, for different evenings.

A dark finish reads as a shape rather than a surface, so the outline does the work and the detail recedes. Against a pale wall that is graphic; against a dark one the piece almost disappears.

Look for a drip lip or a wide foot if it is going on a polished surface, because wax on wood is far harder to remove than wax on stone.

Dusting is all it asks for, with a damp cloth on the finish and nothing solvent or abrasive.
