The Mathus medium outdoor lantern is a wall-mounted light built for the demands of an exterior setting. It pairs a black frame with clear bevelled glass panes, the fine bevelling running around the edge of each pane to catch the light. The shape is classic and upright, with a single lamp held behind the glass, so it reads as a traditional lantern without feeling fussy. Rated IP44, it copes with rain and splashing, making it a practical choice for doorways and walls that face the weather.

This lantern suits a front porch, a back door, a garden wall or a path where you want a steady, welcoming glow. It works well flanking an entrance in a pair, or on its own beside a gate or garage. The black finish sits comfortably against brick, render, stone and timber, so it settles into period and newer homes alike. Because the light comes from a standard replaceable lamp, you can tune the warmth of the glow to the space around it.

The frame is made from aluminium with clear bevelled glass, and it carries a three year anti-corrosion guarantee, so it holds up outdoors over time.
