Description

The Masthead is a 610mm 2-light bathroom wall light combining polished chrome fittings with black detailing and two clear cylindrical glass shades. Each shade houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately, max 40W per bulb) mounted horizontally on a central polished chrome backplate with black end caps. The IP44 rating allows safe installation in bathroom zone 2, making it suitable for positioning above sinks, beside mirrors, or on walls outside the direct spray zone of showers and baths.

Designed for horizontal mounting above mirrors or basin units, the Masthead provides even bilateral task lighting without dark spots between the two bulbs. The 610mm width suits double-basin setups in larger bathrooms or ensuites, while the 128mm projection from the wall keeps the glass shades clear of most mirror depths. The clear glass allows full visibility of the bulb filament, so pairing with decorative LED filament bulbs or vintage-style Edison bulbs adds visual interest when the light is off as well as on.

The polished chrome body and black end caps create a defined two-tone contrast that pairs with both contemporary and industrial bathroom schemes. Chrome bathroom fixtures, black-framed shower enclosures, and mixed-metal tap sets all complement the Masthead's finish. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zone 2. This means it can be used above sinks, beside mirrors, and on walls outside the direct spray zone of showers and baths, but not inside shower enclosures or directly above baths where zone 1 (IPX4 minimum) or zone 0 (IPX7 minimum) ratings are required.

What bulbs does it take?

The Masthead takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, with a maximum wattage of 40W per bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. The clear glass shades suit decorative LED filament bulbs or vintage-style Edison bulbs, typically 4-6W LED equivalents at 2700K-3000K for warm bathroom lighting.

Can the glass shades be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The cylindrical glass shades sit on rubber gaskets at the black end caps and can be removed for bulb changes and cleaning. Wipe the glass with a damp microfibre cloth and dry thoroughly before reassembling to maintain the IP44 seal.

What width basin or vanity unit does this suit?

The 610mm width suits double-basin setups and vanity units from 800mm-1200mm wide. For smaller single basins under 600mm, a single-light version or shorter fixture may be more proportionate.
