The Masmena is an LED outdoor wall light in the form of a neat cube, with a black cast aluminium body and a clear glass shade. It measures 10cm long and 10cm high and projects 10cm from the wall, so it sits close and tidy against brick or render. The integrated LED gives 840lm at a colour temperature of 3000K, a warm white that flatters stone, planting and doorways after dark, and it throws light both upward and downward to wash the wall in two soft beams. Rated IP54, it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall or a garden wall.

We like it beside a front door, along a side path, on a garden wall or framing a patio where you sit in the evening. Because it measures 10cm in each direction, a pair either side of a doorway looks balanced, and a row along a long wall gives a steady rhythm of light. The up and down beams make a feature of the wall, so it suits modern houses, rendered extensions and garden rooms. Fitted beside a door, the warm light helps you find the keyhole and greet visitors.

The body is cast aluminium, and aluminium does not rust, while the black finish keeps the cube crisp against pale walls. Because the LED is integrated, there is no bulb to change, and the LED and driver can be replaced by a specialist should they ever need it.
