Description

The Maryville is a 2-light wall fitting with a washed grey painted metal frame, natural wood bead strands and floral-shaped metal bobeches that hold two E14 candle bulbs (sold separately). The central stem rises 533mm and supports two curved arms that extend outward, each terminating in a candle cup with a decorative petal-shaped drip tray. Two strands of turned wood beads hang in a loop from the top finial down to the backplate, framing the arms.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room alcoves where French Country or cottage styling fits the scheme, the Maryville provides ambient candlelight effect without the maintenance of real flames. The 356mm width and 168mm projection suit spaces with limited wall depth, and the washed grey finish pairs with both warm wood tones and cooler neutral palettes. The fixture mounts to a standard UK wall box and requires mains wiring by a qualified electrician.

The washed grey finish is applied as a dry-brushed paint over the metal frame, allowing the darker base metal to show through at edges and recesses to create a weathered appearance. The wood beads are left unvarnished and vary in tone from pale cream to light grey-brown depending on the grain of each individual bead. The floral bobeches add decorative detail at each bulb position and prevent hot wax drips if traditional wax-coated candle bulbs are used.

What bulbs does it take?

The Maryville uses two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED candle bulbs between 4-6W in warm white (2700K-3000K) to mimic traditional candlelight.

Is it suitable for a bedroom?

Yes. The 2-light output provides enough ambient light for a bedside position or dressing area without overwhelming a bedroom. The fitting projects 168mm from the wall, so allow clearance if mounting beside a bed or wardrobe.

How is the washed grey finish maintained?

The dry-brushed paint finish is durable but should not be cleaned with abrasive cloths or harsh chemicals. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. The wood beads can be dusted with a soft brush.

Does the wood bead colour vary?

Yes. The beads are turned from natural wood and left unvarnished, so each strand shows variation in grain and tone from pale cream through to light grey-brown. This is a feature of the natural material.
