Description
The Marcella is a 2 light wall sconce built around a circular bronze backplate with ornate filigree detailing in a bronze and gold patina finish. Two scrolled arms extend from the central backplate, each supporting a turned candle cup with a cream fabric shade above and a tapered crystal droplet below. The backplate measures 391mm wide and the fitting projects 191mm from the wall once mounted.
Designed for hallways, dining rooms and bedrooms in traditional or transitional interiors, the Marcella sits 380mm tall and provides ambient and decorative light through two E14 bulbs (sold separately) at up to 40W each. The fabric shades diffuse direct glare while the open filigree on the backplate casts shadow patterns onto the wall behind. The fitting mounts on a standard UK backplate and requires wiring into a switched circuit or wall control.
The filigree pattern on the bronze backplate draws from Prussian and Arabic decorative metalwork, with intricate scrollwork and floral motifs cut through the metal. The gold patina highlights the raised details while the darker bronze sits in the recesses, creating depth and contrast under room lighting. The hand-applied finish means tonal variation between individual pieces. The cream fabric shades are lined to prevent light bleed and the crystal droplets refract light from the bulbs when lit.
The Marcella range from Feiss includes chandeliers, pendants and wall lights in coordinating finishes, allowing multi-room lighting schemes in the same design language. The bronze and gold patina finish pairs well with warm wood tones, cream or ivory walls, and both antique brass and oil-rubbed bronze hardware elsewhere in the room.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Marcella take?
The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K for a traditional aesthetic, either LED or filament depending on preference.
Is the finish genuinely hand-applied?
Yes. The bronze and gold patina is hand-finished, which means subtle tonal variation between individual pieces. The gold highlights sit on the raised filigree details while the darker bronze fills the recesses, creating depth and contrast.
Can the shades be removed for cleaning?
The fabric shades lift off the bulb holders for dusting or spot-cleaning. Use a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth for routine maintenance. The shades are lined, so do not expose them to water or cleaning sprays.
What other pieces are available in the Marcella range?
Feiss produces the Marcella design as chandeliers, pendants and wall lights in coordinating bronze and gold patina finishes. Use the search function at Niori to find other Marcella pieces in stock.
