Description
The Maragall is a nine light ceiling light with a branching black steel frame that reaches out in short, jointed arms, each one ending in a round white globe. The shades are matt opal glass, which softens each lamp into an even glow instead of a sharp point of light. It stands 42cm high and 73.5cm across, so it has real presence while keeping a fairly compact drop from the ceiling. Each of the nine globes takes a G9 lamp rated at 3W, with 320 lumens per light. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.
With a spread of 73.5cm, it suits a living room, a dining room or an open-plan kitchen and dining space where the arms have room to breathe, and it looks right centred above a dining table. The black and white pairing is graphic and modern, so it sits comfortably against pale walls and holds its own against deep, painted colours too. Nine separate globes scatter the light around the room instead of throwing it down in one pool, which is why we like it for spaces where people gather and talk. If you want a ceiling light that catches the eye from the doorway, this is a strong choice.
The body is steel in a black finish, and small black cups hold each glass shade neatly at the end of its arm. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains with an energy class of F. As a wired-in light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Glass shades are easiest to keep clear with a soft, dry cloth once the lamps have cooled. It weighs 6.38KG packed, so a second pair of hands makes unboxing and lifting it into position easier.

Frequently Asked
Can this ceiling light go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms such as a living room, dining room or bedroom, away from water.
What size is the Maragall ceiling light?
It is 42cm high and 73.5cm across, so it needs a room with enough ceiling space for its nine arms to spread comfortably.
Which bulbs does it take?
Each of the nine globes takes a G9 lamp rated at 3W, and each light gives 320 lumens, softened by the matt opal glass.
What material are the shades?
The nine shades are white matt opal glass, set on a black steel frame, so the light comes through as a soft, even glow.
Does it have its own switch?
No, there is no switch on the fitting itself. It is switched at the wall, from the light switch in the room where it is fitted.
