Description

The Mandal is an outdoor wall light with a cylindrical galvanised steel body finished in silver powder coat, housing two GU10 LED bulbs that cast beams upward and downward from a frosted glass lens at the base. The dual-beam arrangement creates vertical stripes of light on walls, framing doorways, lighting pathways along exterior walls, and highlighting architectural features such as render details, brickwork or cladding.

Designed for residential and light commercial outdoor use, the fitting carries an IP44 rating, protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. This makes the Mandal suitable for covered porches, open patios, under eaves, and other semi-sheltered outdoor positions where direct heavy rain does not fall on the fitting. The 122mm projection from the wall keeps the light away from the mounting surface, reducing heat transfer and allowing the up and down beams to spread freely.

The galvanised steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and damp environments, with the silver powder coat providing additional UV and weather protection. Two 8W GU10 LEDs are supplied with the fitting, both rated at 3000K warm white, delivering functional light output without the harshness of cooler colour temperatures. Are the LED bulbs replaceable?

Yes. The Mandal uses standard GU10 bulbs, which are user-replaceable. Two 8W 3000K GU10 LEDs are supplied with the fitting, and replacements can be sourced from standard lighting retailers.

What height should the Mandal be mounted at?

For doorway lighting, mounting the fitting at 1.8-2.2m above ground level allows the downward beam to illuminate the threshold while the upward beam highlights the wall above. For pathway lighting along a wall, mounting at 1.5-1.8m creates balanced vertical stripes of light.

How is the fitting maintained?
