Mandal Outdoor LED Up/Down Wall Light - Black

The Mandal is an outdoor up/down wall light with two 8W GU10 LED bulbs mounted inside a cylindrical black powder-coated steel housing. One bulb fires upward, the other downward, creating dual light beams that wash the wall above and below the fitting. The galvanised steel construction with powder coat finish resists corrosion and weathering, and the IP44 rating protects the internal lamp holders and wiring against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for external wall mounting on doorways, porches, garage walls and garden boundaries, the Mandal fits where accent lighting or architectural emphasis is needed. The 122mm projection from the wall and 93mm width suit most domestic exterior walls without overwhelming the facade. The dual-beam effect works best on plain walls where the upward and downward light can spread without obstruction — avoid mounting directly beneath overhangs or ledges that would block the upward beam.

Both GU10 bulbs are included and deliver 3000K warm white light at 8W per bulb, combining ambient warmth with sufficient brightness for path lighting and entrance illumination. What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust and small debris) and against water splashes from any direction. It can be used on exposed external walls, porches and covered outdoor areas. It is not submersible and should not be installed where it would be subjected to high-pressure water jets or flooding.

Are the bulbs replaceable?

Yes. Both GU10 bulbs are user-replaceable. The fitting ships with 2 x 8W 3000K GU10 LEDs included, but these can be swapped for other GU10 bulbs up to the 8W maximum rating if a different colour temperature or brightness is preferred.

Where should it be mounted for best effect?

The Mandal works best on plain walls where both the upward and downward light beams can spread without obstruction. Avoid mounting directly beneath wide eaves, canopies or ledges that would block the upward beam. Typical mounting height is 1.8-2.2m above ground level for doorway and porch applications.

How is it wired?

The fitting requires mains 230V AC wiring and should be installed by a qualified electrician. The back plate mounts to a standard UK outdoor electrical box, and the cable entry is protected by the IP44 housing once the fitting is assembled.
