Description

The Malibu is a 335mm flush ceiling light with an opal-etched glass drum shade held by a stepped polished brass frame. The light takes two E27 bulbs (sold separately), each up to 60W, which diffuse through the etched glass to provide even ambient light across bathrooms, hallways, landings and low-ceiling bedrooms. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes, making the fitting suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the Malibu sits 156mm deep from the ceiling rose to the base of the glass, keeping headroom clear in corridors and bathrooms. The polished brass finish reflects warm light back from the ceiling while the opal glass prevents glare from exposed bulb filaments. The frame's stepped detail adds visual weight without requiring a tall projection.

The opal-etched glass is a single drum shape rather than separate panels, so there are no joins or seams visible when the light is on. The polished brass finish is applied over solid metal — not plated plastic — and develops a natural patina over time unless regularly polished. Pair with warm-white LED E27 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for traditional interiors, or daylight 4000K bulbs for task lighting in bathrooms with minimal natural light.

The IP44 rating makes the Malibu suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, meaning it can be fitted more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower, or on a ceiling above a bath or shower as long as it's not directly in the spray path.
