Description

The Malibu is a single-light wall fitting with an opal etched glass drum shade mounted on a polished chrome stepped frame. The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb producing 3000K warm white light, which diffuses through the etched glass to provide soft ambient illumination. The IP44 rating makes the fitting suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, where moisture resistance is required.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms, the Malibu mounts directly to a standard UK back plate and projects 160mm from the wall. The opal etched glass provides even light distribution without glare or hot spots, making it suitable for mounting either side of a bathroom mirror or as corridor lighting where reflected light is needed off adjacent walls. The 216mm height and 129mm width give the fitting enough presence to work as a standalone feature on a bedroom wall or as a pair flanking a doorway.

The polished chrome finish is applied to a stepped metal frame that holds the glass shade in a visible mounting detail, creating a defined Art Deco reference without overstating the period styling. The opal etching on the glass hides the bulb from direct view while allowing the light to pass through evenly, so the shade glows as a single uniform surface when lit. The 3W LED output is sufficient for ambient bathroom lighting when used in multiples, or as accent lighting in a hallway or landing.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Malibu suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the shower enclosure and more than 600mm from the bath edge. It should not be installed directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb with 3000K warm white output. The bulb is integrated into the fitting on delivery and is user-replaceable if needed in future.

Is the light output sufficient for a bathroom mirror?

The 3W LED provides ambient rather than task-level light. For mirror lighting, Feiss recommend using two Malibu fittings positioned either side of the mirror, or pairing with an overhead ceiling light for combined ambient and task lighting.

Can the bulb be replaced with a different colour temperature?

Yes. The fitting accepts any standard G9 LED bulb up to 3W. Replacement bulbs are available in 2700K (warmer), 3000K (as supplied), or 4000K (cooler white) depending on preference.
