Description

The Malibu is a 1 light wall light built around a cylindrical opal-etched glass drum shade mounted on a polished brass stepped backplate and arm. The fitting includes a 3W G9 LED bulb at 3000K, housed inside the drum where the etched glass diffuses the light into a soft, even glow. The IP44 rating allows safe installation in bathroom zones 1-3 and other humid environments.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms where a combination of ambient and task lighting is needed, the Malibu projects 160mm from the wall and stands 216mm tall, making it suitable for fitting above mirrors, either side of a vanity unit, or flanking a bedroom headboard. The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that works across traditional, art deco and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The stepped profile on the backplate adds depth to the brass detail without overwhelming smaller wall surfaces.

The opal-etched glass drum is a solid 129mm diameter, giving the fitting visual weight while preventing glare from the LED source inside. The brass components are lacquered to maintain the high-shine polished finish and resist tarnishing in humid conditions. At 3W output and 3000K colour temperature, the included LED provides functional light suitable for morning routines or evening reading without the harshness of cooler white LEDs.

Where can this be installed in a bathroom?

The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 1-3. This means it can be fitted above a bath or shower (zone 1), within 60cm horizontally of a bath or shower (zone 2), or beyond 60cm from a bath or shower (zone 3). It cannot be installed inside a shower enclosure or directly in the water spray path.

Is the LED bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting uses a standard G9 capsule LED bulb rated at 3W and 3000K. If the bulb fails after the warranty period, replacement G9 LEDs are widely available and can be swapped by removing the glass drum shade.

Can the polished brass be maintained?

The brass components are lacquered to resist tarnishing in humid environments. Clean with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or chemical sprays as these can damage the lacquer finish and cause premature tarnishing.

What size room does the 3W output suit?

The 3W LED provides functional task lighting rather than full ambient illumination. In bathrooms this typically suits mirrors up to 800mm wide when used in pairs, or single installation for accent lighting.
