Description
The Mah LED Hi is a sealed linear batten built for damp and exposed sites, drawing 19W to put out 2400 lumens at a cool white 4000K. A wide 110 degree spread pushes light evenly along its length rather than into a single pool, which is what you want over a workbench or a run of shelving. Across the Atlantic this style of fitting is sold as an LED shop light, and the wraparound diffuser format will be familiar to anyone who has fitted one in a garage or basement.
Running at 126 lm/W, a single unit covers around 8 m² at general lighting levels, so one batten handles a small store room while two or three in a linked row light a longer workshop or a double garage. The IP65 rating means it copes with dust, splashes and direct outdoor exposure, so it suits car ports, sheds, plant rooms and damp utility areas as well as covered external walkways. With an 80 CRI output and a neutral cool tone, colours read accurately enough for practical tasks and inspection work.
The body is moulded polycarbonate finished in grey, rated IK08 for knock resistance in busier working spaces. It mounts either flush to the ceiling or onto a wall, fixed through the housing, and runs directly from a 220-240V AC supply with no separate driver to position. The fitting is not dimmable and uses a fixed 4000K integrated LED rated for 50,000 hours. At 575mm long and 734g it is light enough to handle alone during installation. The Mah range includes further lengths and outputs for matching a run.

Frequently Asked
Where is this batten suitable for use?
Its IP65 rating makes it weatherproof against dust and water jets, so it works in garages, workshops, car parks and damp utility rooms as well as fully exposed and outdoor positions. The IK08 polycarbonate body also stands up to knocks in busier working areas.
Can several be linked together in a run?
Battens like this are commonly installed in continuous rows to light a longer space evenly. Mount them end to end along a workshop or garage and wire each into the 220-240V supply to create a connected line of light.
How bright is it and what area does it cover?
It produces 2400 lumens at a cool white 4000K from 19W, giving an efficiency of 126 lm/W. That covers roughly 8 m² at general lighting levels, so a single unit suits a small store while two or three handle a larger workshop.
How should the fitting be cleaned?
Switch off at the supply and let it cool, then wipe the polycarbonate diffuser with a soft damp cloth. Avoid solvents or abrasive pads, as these can dull or scratch the surface and reduce light output over time.
