Description

The MagPro battery expansion box provides standby power capacity for ESP MagPro96G addressable fire alarm panels, housing two 12V/18Ah sealed lead-acid batteries in a grey metal enclosure. Certified to EN 54-4, the box connects to the main panel to extend backup runtime during mains power failure, ensuring the fire alarm system remains operational for longer periods than the panel's internal battery capacity alone allows.

Designed for commercial and industrial fire alarm installations where extended standby time is required by regulation or site risk assessment, the expansion box mounts alongside the main MagPro96G panel on the same wall or in an adjacent equipment room. The 510x375x165mm enclosure accommodates two 18Ah batteries side-by-side, with terminal connections feeding the main panel's charging circuit. The grey finish matches standard fire alarm equipment aesthetics.

The enclosure is constructed from powder-coated steel with ventilation slots to allow battery off-gassing to escape safely. The 5.3kg net weight excludes batteries, which must be purchased separately and installed on-site. EN 54-4 certification confirms the enclosure meets European fire detection and alarm system standards for power supply equipment. The box integrates into the panel's charging and monitoring circuit, so low battery conditions trigger alerts at the main panel.

Frequently Asked

Are batteries included?

No. The expansion box is supplied empty. You must purchase two 12V/18Ah sealed lead-acid batteries separately and install them on-site following the wiring instructions in the manual.

What is the maximum standby time with this expansion box?

Standby runtime depends on the total system load (number of detectors, sounders, ancillary devices) connected to the MagPro96G panel. The addition of 2x 18Ah batteries significantly extends backup time beyond the panel's internal battery alone, but exact hours must be calculated based on the specific installation's current draw. Consult the panel manual or a qualified fire alarm engineer for load calculations.

Does this box work with other fire alarm panels?

The MagPro battery expansion box is designed specifically for the ESP MagPro96G addressable fire alarm panel. It may be compatible with other ESP MagPro series panels, but check the compatibility chart in the product manual before ordering.

What certification does it carry?

The enclosure is certified to EN 54-4, the European standard for power supply equipment used in fire detection and alarm systems. This certification is required for commercial fire alarm installations in the UK and EU.
