Description

The MagPro is an addressable fire alarm sounder in a red polycarbonate housing, rated IP65 for outdoor installation. The unit includes a waterproof deep base designed for wall mounting in aggressive outdoor environments where standard sounders would fail due to moisture ingress or temperature extremes.

Intended for commercial fire alarm systems using addressable protocols, the MagPro connects to compatible control panels where each device carries a unique address on the loop. This allows the control panel to identify which specific sounder has been activated or faulted, rather than treating all sounders as a single zone. The waterproof deep base accommodates two IP65-rated cable glands, an O-ring and gasket to seal the cable entry points against rain and moisture.

The red polycarbonate shell resists UV degradation and impact damage in outdoor conditions. The deep base raises the sounder body away from the mounting surface, allowing the cable glands to be fitted horizontally without the cables being crushed against the wall. This configuration is common in car parks, loading bays, external stairwells and plant rooms where fire alarm coverage is required but devices are exposed to weather.

What is an addressable sounder?

An addressable sounder carries a unique address on a fire alarm loop, allowing the control panel to identify and poll each device individually. This differs from conventional sounders which are grouped into zones and cannot be individually identified by the panel.

Is the IP65 rating suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. IP65 means the unit is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for external walls, covered car parks, loading bays and other outdoor locations where the sounder may be exposed to rain but not to continuous immersion.

What control panels is it compatible with?

The MagPro is designed for ESP's own addressable fire alarm control panels. Compatibility with other manufacturers' panels depends on the protocol used. Consult the product manual or contact your fire alarm installer to confirm compatibility before ordering.

What's included in the box?

The unit includes the red addressable sounder head, the IP65-rated waterproof deep base, two IP65 cable glands, an O-ring and a gasket. Wall fixings are not included and must be specified based on the mounting surface type.
