Description

The MagPro addressable sounder base is an IP65-rated waterproof deep mounting base designed for wall-mounting MagPro addressable fire alarm sounders in outdoor and aggressive environments. The base provides environmental protection for the sounder's electrical connections and wiring terminals, allowing addressable fire alarm sounders to be installed in locations exposed to rain, dust, moisture and temperature extremes.

Compatible exclusively with MagPro MAGPRO-WS, MAGPRO-WSS and MAGPRO-WSS23 addressable sounders, the base is designed for outdoor mounting on building perimeters, loading bays, car parks, plant rooms, industrial yards and any environment where fire alarm notification is required but weather protection is essential. The deep profile creates sufficient void space behind the sounder head to accommodate loop wiring, terminal connections and cable entry points while maintaining the IP65 seal.

The red polycarbonate housing includes two IP65-rated cable glands for secure cable entry, an O-ring seal between the base and sounder head, and a gasket to seal the base against the mounting surface. The white mounting ring sits between the red base and the sounder head, providing a clean visual separation and allowing the sounder to clip securely into place. Installation uses standard masonry fixings through the base's mounting holes, with the cable glands accepting standard fire alarm cable diameters.

Which sounders is this base compatible with?

The IP65 base is compatible only with MagPro addressable sounders models MAGPRO-WS, MAGPRO-WSS and MAGPRO-WSS23. It is not compatible with conventional (non-addressable) sounders or other manufacturers' products.

What does the IP65 rating mean?

IP65 means the base is dust-tight (complete protection against ingress of dust) and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installation in locations exposed to rain, hose-down cleaning or dusty environments.

What's included for installation?

The base includes two IP65-rated cable glands for secure cable entry, an O-ring seal to fit between the base and sounder head, and a gasket to seal the base against the mounting surface. Wall fixings are not included and should be selected based on the mounting surface type.

Can the base be mounted on a ceiling?

The base is designed for wall mounting. While physically it could be ceiling-mounted, the cable entry glands and drainage characteristics are optimised for vertical wall installation where water runs off rather than pooling.
