Description
The MagPro addressable smoke detector is an EN54-7 certified optical smoke sensor designed for commercial and industrial fire alarm systems using addressable protocols. The detector communicates with the control panel via a two-wire addressable loop, allowing the panel to identify the specific location of a triggered detector and to configure sensitivity settings remotely without removing the detector from the ceiling.
The detector covers up to 120m² in open-plan areas and can be installed on ceilings up to 16m high, making it suitable for warehouses, retail spaces, office floors and light industrial buildings. Four sensitivity levels (High, Normal, Middle, Low) are selectable from the control panel, with automatic day/night mode switching to reduce false alarms from environmental changes. The low-profile white housing measures approximately 100mm diameter and sits 35mm below the ceiling when fitted to a compatible base.
A 360° visible LED on the detector face indicates alarm status and can be seen from any angle on the floor below. The detector head clips onto a separate base (ordered separately — see MAGPRO-DB, MAGPRO-DBS or MAGPRO-DBSI depending on installation requirements), allowing the detector to be removed for maintenance or testing without disturbing the wiring. The EN54-7 certification confirms compliance with European fire detection standards, required for most UK commercial installations.

Frequently Asked
Does this detector include the base?
No. The detector head is sold separately from the mounting base. You will need to order a compatible base — MAGPRO-DB (standard), MAGPRO-DBS (sounder base) or MAGPRO-DBSI (isolator base) depending on your system requirements.
What is the coverage area?
The MagPro addressable smoke detector covers up to 120m² in typical open-plan installations. Coverage may be reduced in areas with high ceilings, obstructions, or where higher sensitivity settings are required.
Can the sensitivity be adjusted?
Yes. Four sensitivity levels (High, Normal, Middle, Low) can be selected remotely from the fire alarm control panel without removing the detector from the ceiling. The detector also supports automatic day/night mode switching to reduce false alarms.
What does EN54-7 certification mean?
EN54-7 is the European standard for point-type smoke detectors used in fire detection systems. Certification to this standard is required for commercial fire alarm installations in the UK and confirms that the detector meets performance, reliability and false alarm resistance criteria.
