Description

The MagPro addressable network interface card connects MAGPRO16, MAGPRO96 and REP fire alarm control panels via RS-485 communication protocol, allowing multiple panels to operate as a networked system. The card fits into a compatible slot on the host panel and draws power directly from the panel's internal supply, requiring no external power source.

Designed for commercial fire alarm installations where multiple zones or buildings need to share alarm status and control signals, the interface card supports transmission distances up to 1000m between networked modules. This allows panels to be distributed across large sites — warehouses, multi-building campuses, or multi-storey facilities — whilst maintaining centralised monitoring and control. The card requires MAGPRO16 panels to run firmware revision 2.8 or higher, and MAGPRO96 panels to run firmware revision 4.2 or higher.

On-board LED indicators provide real-time status feedback during installation and operation, confirming communication link integrity and data transmission. All programming is handled directly from the host panel's interface, so there's no need for separate configuration software or external programming tools. The RS-485 protocol provides differential signalling that resists interference over long cable runs, making it suitable for installations where panels must communicate across electrically noisy environments.

Frequently Asked

Which panels is this card compatible with?

The card works with MAGPRO16 (firmware rev 2.8 or higher), MAGPRO96 (firmware rev 4.2 or higher), and REP fire alarm control panels. Check your panel's firmware version before ordering to confirm compatibility.

What's the maximum distance between networked panels?

The RS-485 protocol supports transmission distances up to 1000m between individual network modules. For installations requiring longer distances, repeater modules or fibre optic converters may be needed.

Does the card need external power?

No. The interface card draws power directly from the host panel's internal supply. There are no additional power connections required during installation.

How is the card programmed?

All programming is handled via the host panel's interface. There's no separate configuration software or external programming tool needed. Consult the panel's installation manual for the specific network setup procedure.
