Description

Track systems live or die by the small pieces that join them, and this is one of the smallest we sell. It is a slim silver plate that sits at the top of Magneto track, bridging one length to the next so a long run reads as a single clean line. At 80mm long and only 9mm across, it settles into the profile and stays out of the way once the run is complete. There is no lamp and no light output here; the work it does is quiet, holding the line continuous where two sections meet.

We reach for this on any Magneto scheme that runs longer than one length of track, and it suits every type in the range, shallow surface, deep and recessed alike. That makes it useful in a kitchen over an island, along a hallway, above a run of shelving, or on a small gallery or shop floor where the lighting needs to follow the wall. If you are planning a whole system rather than a single fitting, this is the part that lets you set the length you actually want instead of the length the track happens to come in.

The silver finish is plain and unfussy, meant to sit with the track rather than draw the eye, and the piece is light enough to hold between two fingers. It carries a three year warranty. Looking after it asks almost nothing: switch the system off, run a dry cloth along the top of the track when you dust, and keep damp cloths and sprays away from it. Dry indoor rooms are where it belongs, so a shower room or an open porch is not the place for it. We keep the rest of the Magneto parts as well, including the track lengths, end caps, the L-joints for turning a corner and the push dimming controller, so a run can be planned end to end from one range.
