Description

Corners are where most track layouts come unstuck, and this is the piece that answers them. It links two runs of the shallow Magneto track at a right angle, carrying the circuit round the turn so the line of light continues without a break. The body is square, 11cm on each side and only 30mm deep, so it holds the same low profile as the shallow track it belongs to. Finished in black, it reads as one continuous dark line rather than a lump at the turn.

We reach for this when a track needs to follow the shape of a room: an L-shaped kitchen run that turns from the worktop towards the table, a hallway that bends, a studio or gallery wall where the lighting wants to wrap into the return. It suits anyone drawing the layout out first, since one joint does each corner and straight lengths do the rest. It is made for the shallow surface system, pairing with that track rather than the deeper or recessed profiles, which have joints of their own.

The black finish runs right through the parts of this system, so track, joints and caps sit together without anything jumping out at the junctions. Care is little more than a dry cloth over the top face now and then to keep the colour even, with the circuit switched off first. It carries a three year warranty.
