Description

A compact spotlight head for the Magneto track system, finished in black with the LED built into the body. The beam is tight rather than broad, so it drops a defined pool of light where you point it instead of washing a whole room, and the colour is a warm 3000K that flatters timber, brick and painted walls. Output is 560 lumens from a 7W draw, which means a run of several heads asks very little of the circuit. Dimming is handled by a triac dimmer, which is bought separately.

We reach for heads like this where light needs to land on something specific: a worktop, a run of shelves, a picture, the length of a hallway. Because each head sits on the track independently, you can space them to suit the room and add more later if the layout changes, which makes it a sensible choice for open kitchens and knocked-through living spaces where one central fitting never quite does the job. The warm tone suits evening rooms and dining tables better than a cooler white, and paired with a dimmer it will drop back to a low glow once the cooking is done.

The body is a small, plain black cylinder on a black yoke, kept deliberately quiet so the eye goes to the lit object rather than the fitting. Keep it dust free with a dry cloth over the head and the track, with the power off at the wall, and avoid sprays and solvents on the black finish. It is intended for dry rooms indoors. We stock the rest of the range in matching black, including shallow, deep and recessed track in one metre lengths, L joints, end caps and the triac controller the system needs, so a scheme can be built up piece by piece.
