Description

A single-head track light for the Magneto low voltage system, finished in black. A zoom mechanism lets you narrow or widen the beam by hand, so one head can pick out a single framed print or spread across a run of shelving. Light comes from an integral LED module of 7W in warm white at 3000K, with the driver built in, and colour rendering is high enough to keep timber, paint and fabric reading true.

We reach for heads like this where the lighting has to move as the room does: above a kitchen worktop, along a hallway hung with pictures, or in a study where the work shifts about the desk. On the track it slides to a new position and twists to a new angle, so nothing is fixed for good. Output is 560 lumens, which is accent light rather than whole-room light, so where you want brightness across a space we would plan on several heads spaced along the length. It is a fixed-output head and does not dim.

The housing is black throughout, head and body alike, which keeps it quiet against a dark ceiling and lets it read as part of the track rather than a row of objects. To clean it, isolate the supply, let the head cool, then take dust off with a dry cloth and leave the lens be unless it is actually marked. It carries a three year warranty. Being rated for indoor use, it wants a dry room away from steam and splashing.
