Description

A compact spotlight head that sits on Magneto track and aims where you need it, drawing 7W and putting out 560 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. The beam is a focused pool rather than a broad wash, so it picks out a worktop, a shelf or a framed print without washing the whole room. The LED and its driver are built in, and the output is fixed rather than adjustable. Colour rendering is high, which counts for a lot when the light is landing on food, fabric or paint.

We use heads like these where a fixed grid of downlights would be too blunt: over an island, along a run of shelving, down a hall hung with pictures. They suit people who expect to move things around, since each head slides along the track and re-aims by hand. In a kitchen we would set a few along the working side of the room and leave the general light to something softer overhead. It is a sensible choice for a home office or a studio where the light needs to be pointed at a task rather than spread thinly.

The black finish covers the housing and the moving head, so it reads as one shape against a dark ceiling. Keep it clean by switching the power off, letting the head cool and going over it with a dry cloth; nothing wet or abrasive near the lens. It carries a three year warranty. The rest of the range supplies the run itself: surface track in shallow and deep profiles, a recessed track, corner and wall to wall joints, and end caps, all in the same black.
