Description

The MAGfire end of line resistor module is a circuit supervision component for conventional fire alarm panels, supplied in a pack of 5 units. Each module terminates a detector zone circuit with a fixed-value resistor, allowing the control panel to monitor the integrity of the wiring between the panel and the detector or call point at the end of the circuit.

Designed for installation in commercial, industrial and residential fire alarm systems using conventional (non-addressable) detection technology, the modules fit inside standard detector bases or behind manual call points. The panel continuously monitors the circuit resistance — if the circuit is broken (open circuit) or shorted, the panel detects the change in resistance and raises a fault condition, alerting the system operator to wiring damage or tampering before a fire event occurs.

Each module houses a single resistor in a compact black plastic housing with exposed tinned wire tails for connection to the zone wiring. The resistor value is matched to the specific panel manufacturer's requirements (typically 4.7kΩ or 6.8kΩ depending on the system). The modules are passive components with no power draw and require no maintenance once installed. The pack of 5 suits installers wiring multiple zones or maintaining spares for service work.

Frequently Asked

What resistance value are these modules?

The resistance value depends on the specific fire alarm panel manufacturer's requirements. Common values are 4.7kΩ or 6.8kΩ. Check the panel installation manual or contact ESP to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Where are these fitted in the circuit?

The resistor module is fitted at the end of the detector zone circuit, typically inside the last detector base in the zone or behind the furthest manual call point. It connects across the positive and negative zone terminals.

Are these compatible with addressable systems?

No. These modules are designed exclusively for conventional (non-addressable) fire alarm panels. Addressable systems use different end-of-line supervision methods and do not require resistor modules.

Can these be reused after removal?

Yes, provided the wire tails have not been damaged during removal and there is sufficient length remaining to make a secure connection when re-installed. If the tails are too short or the resistor has been exposed to heat or moisture damage, replace the module.

Shipping & Returns

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund. See full delivery terms.

Returns

30-day returns window from delivery. As all our products are electrical or lighting goods, returned items must be inspected and recertified by a qualified electrician before resale — the cost of this inspection (25–40% of the item value) is deducted from your refund. Customers pay return shipping. Made-to-order, special-order and clearance items cannot be returned. See full returns policy.
