Description

The MagDuo is an 8-zone 2-wire fire alarm control panel certified to EN54-2/4 standards, designed for commercial and residential fire detection systems requiring addressable-style functionality over conventional wiring. Each zone supports up to 32 devices depending on device loading units (DLU), with the panel differentiating between smoke detectors, heat detectors and manual call points to indicate the alarm source type on the 4-line x 20-character LCD display.

The 2-wire topology simplifies installation by carrying power and signalling on the same two-core cable, reducing cable runs and termination complexity compared to conventional 4-wire systems. Active end-of-line monitoring detects wiring faults, device removal and short circuits in real time, logging events to the onboard 500-event memory. The panel includes an alarm confirmation feature to reduce false alarms, three enhanced test modes for commissioning and maintenance, and day/night detection mode per zone to adjust sensitivity based on occupancy patterns.

Housed in a powder-coated steel enclosure measuring 340mm x 350mm x 101mm, the MagDuo accommodates two 12V 2.3Ah batteries (BAT32, sold separately) for standby power, with an optional extended battery box available for two 12V 7.0Ah batteries where longer backup duration is required. The panel supports RS485 connection to up to eight repeater panels for multi-floor or distributed site monitoring. Zones 5-8 can be configured to accept conventional devices with the optional conventional zone card, allowing mixed-system installations during phased upgrades.

The front panel provides fire alarm controls accessible via a turn-key lock, with four control buttons (silence alarms, reset system, sound alarms, silence buzzer) and a key switch to enable or disable specific controls. Status LEDs indicate fire, fault, disabled, test and power conditions at a glance. Delay programming options allow for timed entry/exit sequences where required by site risk assessment.
