Description

The Madriz is a compact LED outdoor wall light with a built-in motion sensor. Its rounded rectangular body is cast aluminium in a black finish, with a round white plastic diffuser at the centre and a slim white band running around the edge. It measures 23cm in length and 19cm in height, and it sits just 5cm proud of the wall. Two integrated LED lights of 3.6W each give 370 lumens apiece at a warm 3000K, and there are no bulbs to change. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water and can live outdoors on a house wall.

Put it beside the front door, along a side passage, by the garage or next to the back step, wherever you want light the moment someone arrives. The motion sensor sits in the lower part of the face, below the diffuser, and switches the light on when it senses movement, so nobody has to fumble for keys in the dark. The black body and white disc suit a modern rendered or timber-clad exterior, and the white edge band casts a soft glow onto the wall around the light, which gives a doorway a welcoming look from the street. It suits anyone who wants a porch light that looks after itself, without a bulb to replace.

The body is cast aluminium, a metal that is light and does not rust, and the white plastic shade spreads the LEDs into an even disc of light. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply and is not dimmable, so the motion sensor does all the switching. As a wired-in light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download your electrician can read ahead of the day. Packed, it weighs 0.905KG, so it is easy to handle at the top of a ladder.
