The Maddison is a 420mm square flush crystal ceiling light with six G9 bulb fittings arranged behind cascading tiers of square and rectangular cut crystal droplets, all mounted on a polished chrome frame. The 280mm projection from ceiling to lowest crystal tier makes this a flush-mount fitting designed for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards, where a traditional drop pendant would sit too low.

Designed for dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms where ceiling height limits pendant choice, the Maddison provides decorative impact without requiring the clearance that a suspension light needs. The square chrome canopy fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose, and the weight of 7kg requires a secure fixing into a joist or ceiling anchor. The six G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit recessed behind the crystal array, so the light source itself is obscured and all visible light comes from refraction through the crystal facets.

Each tier of crystal hangs on fine wire from the chrome grid, creating a structured but slightly mobile effect as air movement in the room causes gentle shifts in the crystal positions. The polished chrome reflects ambient light during the day and amplifies the G9 output when the fitting is lit at night. The square geometry suits contemporary and transitional interiors where right-angled forms dominate, and the crystal treatment softens the hard edges with refracted sparkle across walls and ceiling.

Is the Maddison dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself has no integrated dimming — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose and the wall dimmer model.

What bulbs does it take?

The Maddison takes six G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-5W G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for adequate light output without excessive heat.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 280mm projection suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. Below 2.3m the lowest crystal tier may feel visually intrusive. The fitting works well in typical UK homes with 2.4m ceilings where a drop pendant would hang too low.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal strand gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the wire hangers or chrome frame. Do not use household sprays or polishes on the crystal.
