Description

The Madagascar is a 1200mm linear pendant light built around a continuous wave-form acrylic diffuser finished in sand white. The frame twists along its length in a sinuous S-curve, with the integrated 33W LED strip mounted inside the acrylic channel casting light through the material itself. The result is a soft 3000K glow distributed evenly across the full 1200mm length, turning the structural form into the light source.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and commercial counter runs where linear overhead light is needed without the hard-edge look of straight bar fittings, the Madagascar suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The adjustable drop from 600mm to 2000mm allows the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on the room. The 1200mm length covers a typical 1.8-2.4m island or table without needing multiple fittings, and the 65mm width keeps the visual weight low despite the 2310 lumen output.

The sand white finish is a matte off-white with a warm undertone, softer than pure white and less stark under daylight than cool whites. The acrylic diffuser hides the LED strip completely, presenting as a single glowing form rather than individual light points. The wave pattern creates depth and visual interest when viewed from the side, while from directly below the light reads as even and uniform. At 1.63kg the fitting is lightweight enough to hang from standard ceiling roses without additional bracing.

No. The integrated LED is rated at 33W on 220-240V mains and does not support dimming. The light output is fixed at 2310 lumens.

What length does it cover?

The 1200mm length suits kitchen islands and dining tables between 1.8m and 2.4m. For longer runs, multiple Madagascar fittings can be installed in sequence, though most users find a single 1200mm unit sufficient for standard domestic island widths.

How high above a worktop should it hang?

Can the acrylic diffuser be cleaned?

Yes. Wipe the acrylic with a dry microfibre cloth when the fitting is switched off and cool. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid chemical sprays or abrasive cleaners which can cloud or scratch the acrylic surface.
