Description

The Machio is a rectangular LED flood light with a black aluminium body and a white glass front, a crisp monochrome pairing that sits well against brick, render and timber. It is 19.2cm long and 20.5cm wide, with a height of 6cm, so it stays compact and unobtrusive by day. The integrated LED gives 6,000lm at 4000K, and the IP65 rating settles where it can go: sealed against dust and protected from jets of water, this flood light lives outdoors in the garden or on the side of the house.

We would put it wherever you want a broad wash of light: across a driveway, over a patio, along a side passage or at the far end of the lawn. Neutral white at 4000K sits between warm and cool, so faces, planting and paving look natural rather than yellow or blue. That helps when you are unloading the car after dark or keeping an eye on the garden. The black body tones in with dark window frames, guttering and fencing, and the white glass front gives it a clean, simple face that suits modern and traditional homes alike.

There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, and as a wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician. It runs on 220-240V, weighs 0.56KG and carries energy class E. Aluminium does not rust, which suits a light that lives outdoors, and the glass front wipes clean with a soft, damp cloth once the light is switched off and cool. The installation instructions come as a download, so your electrician can read them ahead of the job. Keep the glass clear of leaves and cobwebs and it will keep throwing its full light across your outdoor space.
