The Maccacari is an LED wall light built around a sweeping oval band of satin nickel, mounted on a crisp white wall plate. The body is aluminium and steel, and a clear plastic diffuser sits across the open underside, framed by a white inner face. It measures 27cm long and 7.5cm high, and it stands 13cm off the wall. The LED is integrated, drawing 10W and giving 1,300 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. With an IP20 rating it is made for dry rooms indoors, so it belongs in living spaces rather than bathrooms or outside.

Its slim height and modest projection suit a hallway, a landing or the wall either side of a bed, where you want good light without a bulky fitting reaching into the room. In a living room or dining room, a pair on a chimney breast or along a long wall gives a balanced, considered look. The two-tone finish is the clever part: the white plate all but disappears against a pale wall, so what you notice is the band of brushed metal.
