Description
The Lyvane is a 180mm globe pendant light cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black flex from a brushed brass cap. A single G9 lamp socket sits inside the stone sphere, casting warm light through the alabaster wall so the globe itself becomes the diffuser. The construction is deliberately pared back: stone, brass, and flex, with no shade ring or additional hardware to compete with the form.
At 180mm in diameter, the Lyvane suits hallway runs, kitchen island clusters at varying drops, bedside positions in place of a table lamp, and stairwell voids. It works equally well as a single fitting over a bedside table or grouped in threes or fives along a longer surface. The black flex can be shortened on installation to set the globe at the right height for the application, and the brushed brass cap fits standard UK ceiling roses.
Each alabaster globe is cut from a single block of stone, so the veining, tonal banding and clouding differ between pieces. When lit, the lower portion typically reads slightly warmer than the top as the G9 sits closer to the base, drawing out the natural mineral structure of the stone. The pairing of pale soft-white alabaster with brushed brass keeps the palette warm without being yellow, and sits comfortably alongside oak, walnut, plaster pinks and warm greys.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Lyvane take?
The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). For warm ambient light through the alabaster, most users pair it with a 2700K-3000K G9 LED at 3-5W. Avoid bulbs above the maximum wattage stated on the lamp holder.
Will every pendant look the same?
No. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, clouding and tonal variation differ between pieces. If ordering multiples to hang as a cluster, expect each globe to show its own pattern when lit.
Can the drop be shortened?
Yes. The black flex can be shortened on installation to set the globe at the desired height. For bedside use the globe is typically set 500-700mm above the mattress; over a kitchen island, 700-800mm above the worktop.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the stone.
