Description

The Lyria is a 20cm sphere table lamp with a blown glass globe in acid-etched white, set on a white metal circular base. The globe acts as both the shade and the diffuser, scattering light evenly in all directions from a single E27 bulb fitted inside (sold separately). The acid-etched finish on the glass softens the light output and hides the bulb filament from view.

Designed for bedside tables, side tables in living rooms, and home office desks where soft ambient light is needed rather than directed task light. The 20cm diameter gives a noticeable presence without dominating a typical bedside table or console. The IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use — the lamp is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas, or damp locations.

The white metal base provides stability and keeps the sphere upright without visible mounting hardware. The blown glass construction means each globe has slight variations in wall thickness, though this does not affect light output. The lamp accepts any E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage stated in the specification table, giving control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the room.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Lyria take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or ambient use.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. If you need dimming capability, you would need to pair it with a dimmable E27 bulb and an appropriate dimmer switch on the circuit, though compatibility is not guaranteed.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is not rated for any area where moisture or steam is present.

How is the glass cleaned?

The acid-etched glass can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth when the lamp is switched off and cool. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the glass or allowing water to reach the metal base or bulb fitting.
