Description

The Luxeon Slim is a 1m magnetic track rail in black aluminium, designed for surface-mounting on ceilings or bulkheads where magnetic spotlight heads are needed. The track provides a continuous live rail that magnetic-base spotlights attach to magnetically, allowing lights to be positioned and repositioned along the length without tools or re-wiring.

Designed for retail spaces, galleries, kitchens and offices where lighting needs to adapt to changing displays or layouts, the track accepts any compatible magnetic spotlight with a matching rail profile. The 26mm projection from the ceiling is low enough to suit rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m and above without the track dominating sightlines. The black finish integrates cleanly with dark ceilings or provides contrast against white and light-grey surfaces.

The aluminium extrusion houses the electrical conductors inside the profile, so there are no exposed cables once the track is installed and powered. End caps (sold separately) seal the track terminals at each end. The track can be cut to shorter lengths on site if needed, and multiple 1m sections can be joined with connectors to create continuous runs across wider spans. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from direct moisture.

Frequently Asked

What spotlights are compatible with this track?

The track accepts magnetic spotlight heads designed for the Luxeon Slim profile. Ideal Lux manufactures a range of compatible spotlights with different beam angles, wattages and colour temperatures. Check the product specifications of individual spotlights to confirm magnetic-base compatibility with this track system.

Can the track be cut to a shorter length?

Yes. The aluminium extrusion can be cut to length on site using a hacksaw or metal-cutting saw, allowing custom lengths shorter than 1m. After cutting, the electrical conductors inside the profile must be accessed and terminated correctly, and end caps fitted to seal the cut ends.

Is the track dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the spotlight heads fitted to the track and the dimmer used. The track itself passes mains voltage to the magnetic fittings, so if the spotlights are dimmable LED units and a compatible LED dimmer is installed upstream, the entire system can be dimmed.

Can multiple tracks be joined end-to-end?

Yes. Joining connectors (sold separately) allow multiple 1m sections to be linked into continuous runs. The connectors maintain electrical continuity along the joined sections, so magnetic spotlights can be positioned across the full length of the combined track.
