Description

The Luxeon is a magnetic twin track spotlight with two cylindrical LED heads mounted on a 190mm black aluminium track. Each head houses an integrated 8W 3000K LED (16W combined output) behind a faceted reflector designed to concentrate light into a beam rather than spread it wide. The heads attach magnetically to the track, allowing them to be repositioned along the rail and rotated through 350° and tilted through 90° for directed accent or task lighting.

Designed for retail display lighting, gallery picture lighting, kitchen worktop lighting and home office task lighting, the Luxeon suits spaces where light needs to be aimed at specific surfaces rather than providing general ambient fill. The magnetic mounting eliminates the screws and clips found on traditional track systems, so repositioning a head takes seconds rather than minutes. The 190mm track suits single-spotlight or twin-spotlight configurations depending on the area being lit.

The extruded aluminium track and heads are finished in a low-sheen black that absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, keeping the fittings visually recessive when the LEDs are off. The 40mm projection from ceiling to track base and 70mm from track to the base of the head gives a compact profile that works in rooms with ceiling heights as low as 2.2m without the heads dominating the sightline. The IP20 rating limits the Luxeon to dry indoor environments only.

The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that sits between neutral white (4000K) and the warmer tones of traditional halogen (2700K). The integrated LEDs are rated for 16W combined draw on 230V mains, delivering focused light output without the heat generation of equivalent halogen spotlights.

No. The integrated LEDs are not compatible with dimmer switches. The Luxeon operates at full 16W output when powered on.

How are the heads repositioned on the track?

The heads attach magnetically to the aluminium track. To reposition a head, lift it off the track, slide it to the new position, and place it back down. The magnetic coupling holds the head securely in place while maintaining the electrical connection.

What beam angle do the LEDs produce?

The faceted reflectors concentrate the light into a narrow beam suitable for accent lighting rather than flood lighting. Exact beam angle is not specified by Ideal Lux, but the design prioritises directed light over wide coverage.

Can additional heads be added to the track?
