Description

The Lunivar is a 660mm alabaster table lamp built around a faceted column of natural Spanish alabaster, capped at the top and base by sculpted polished brass collars and finished with a 380mm white drum shade. A polished brass finial sits above the shade, echoing the rounded forms of the upper and lower brass caps. The column accepts a single E27 bulb (sold separately), which lights the shade from within for warm ambient output.

This lamp suits console tables in entrance halls, sideboards in living rooms and larger bedside tables where its 660mm height reads in proportion. The drum shade casts a soft downlight onto the surface below while sending diffused light up through the room, making it useful as a secondary light source alongside ceiling fittings rather than as a primary task lamp. An inline switch on the cable controls on/off.

The vertical faceting cut into the alabaster column catches light differently across each plane, accentuating the stone's translucency and natural veining. Because each section of alabaster is cut from a different part of the quarried block, the tonal variation and mineral pattern differ between individual lamps. The brass collars are sharply machined with clean edges, giving a structured frame to the softer organic stone and tying the lamp to brass-accented interior schemes.

The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster column and white shade for ambient living room or bedside use.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself uses a standard E27 socket and an inline cable switch, so dimming depends on the bulb chosen. Pair with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible plug-in or wall dimmer to enable dimming.

Will the alabaster look the same as the photo?

The faceted column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tone and translucency vary between individual lamps. The overall colour and faceted profile match the photograph, but the exact pattern within the stone is unique to each piece.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the column with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
