Description
The Lunar is a 450mm outdoor wall light with a die-cast aluminium body finished in grey and two satin-finish Pyrex glass diffusers that cast light upwards and downwards from a pair of E27 bulb fittings. The IP55 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed outdoor walls, covered patios, and garden facades.
Designed for residential porches, garden walls, garage sides, and commercial building exteriors, the Lunar mounts horizontally with an 80mm projection from the wall surface. The twin-diffuser configuration creates balanced wash lighting in both directions without producing harsh downward glare or leaving dark patches under the fitting. The grey powder-coated aluminium withstands coastal moisture, frost cycles, and direct sun without discolouration or corrosion over time.
Each E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or CFL bulbs up to the wattage specified in the Specification table (bulbs sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness depending on whether the wall needs security lighting, accent lighting, or soft path illumination. The satin Pyrex diffusers soften the light output and prevent visible bulb filaments from creating visual discomfort when viewed from a distance. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible outdoor dimmer circuit.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP55 rating cover?
IP55 means the fitting is dust-protected and can withstand low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for fully exposed outdoor walls, covered patios, and areas where the fitting may face rain, but not submersion or high-pressure washing.
What bulbs does the Lunar take?
The fitting accepts standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for warm outdoor lighting, or 4000K-5000K for cooler security lighting.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, provided you use dimmable bulbs and install the fitting on a circuit with a compatible outdoor dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but the bulbs and circuit must also be dimmer-compatible.
How is the light distributed?
The twin diffusers cast light upwards and downwards in roughly equal proportions. This creates balanced wash lighting on the wall surface without harsh downward glare or dark zones directly beneath the fitting.
