Description

The Luna is an arc floor lamp with a curved white metal stem that extends 1.18m horizontally from a circular weighted base, suspending a white fabric drum shade over a seating area or reading chair. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) inside the fabric shade, which diffuses the light across the room. The white metal frame is finished in a matt powder coat that resists fingerprints and minor scuffs.

Designed for positioning behind a sofa, next to an armchair, or in a corner where overhead lighting cannot reach, the Luna's arc brings the light source out over the furniture without needing a side table. The 400mm projection of the shade from the stem places the bulb approximately 1.5m from the base, allowing the lamp to stand behind a sofa and light the seating area in front. The weighted base keeps the lamp stable despite the cantilevered arm.

The fabric drum shade measures approximately 400mm diameter and 300mm height, large enough to house standard E27 LED bulbs up to 60W or decorative filament bulbs without the bulb showing through the fabric. The shade's white polyester-cotton weave softens the light output and hides the bulb fitting when viewed from below. The 2.25m cable allows placement away from wall sockets, and the inline foot switch sits low on the cable for easy reach without bending.

The Luna is part of Ideal Lux's residential lighting collection and carries a 5-year warranty. The IP20 rating confirms indoor use only. The lamp ships flat-packed with assembly required — the stem sections screw together and the shade clips onto the lamp head.

What bulb does the Luna take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting over a sofa or reading chair.

How tall is the lamp when assembled?

The lamp stands approximately 1.8m tall from floor to top of shade. The shade itself hangs at approximately 1.5m above floor level, making it suitable for positioning behind standard-height sofas and armchairs.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. However, if you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and plug the lamp into a trailing-edge dimmer plug adapter, you can control brightness that way. The lamp has no built-in dimming function.

Does the shade rotate or adjust?

The shade is fixed to the end of the arc and does not rotate or tilt. The arc itself is fixed at installation, so the lamp's reach and position are set when assembled. Choose the placement carefully to ensure the shade hangs where you need the light.
