Description

The Lumis is an outdoor wall light with a downward-facing conical shade in grey die-cast aluminium, mounted on a curved arm above a clear acrylic globe housing a single E27 bulb. The grey finish is a mid-tone powder coat that resists UV fade and corrosion, and the IP43 rating protects against solid objects over 1mm and rain spray from any direction up to 60° from vertical.

Designed for porches, front doors, garage entrances and covered patios where shelter from direct overhead rain exists, the Lumis provides functional downlight onto doorsteps and pathways while the clear globe casts secondary ambient light horizontally. The 460mm projection from the wall brings the shade forward enough to illuminate a standard door recess or porch step without casting harsh shadows. The fitting mounts to standard outdoor back boxes and accepts any E27 LED or filament bulb up to the manufacturer's maximum wattage (see Specification).

The die-cast aluminium body resists impact and temperature fluctuation better than pressed steel, making it suitable for year-round exterior exposure in UK coastal and inland climates. The grey finish pairs with both traditional brick and render facades and contemporary cladding materials. The 280mm height gives the fitting enough presence to balance against typical porch proportions without overwhelming narrow doorways.

Can this be used in fully exposed positions?

The IP43 rating protects against rain spray up to 60° from vertical, meaning the Lumis is suitable for covered porches, door canopies and recessed entrances. It should not be used in positions exposed to direct overhead rain or driving horizontal rain without overhead shelter.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K for porch and entrance lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming, but bulb and dimmer compatibility must be confirmed separately.

What is the warranty coverage?

Ideal Lux provides a 5-year manufacturer warranty on this fitting, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal outdoor use conditions.
