Description

The Luminous is an 81cm LED picture light with an integrated 18W 3000K LED strip housed behind an opal plastic diffuser, mounted on a chrome metal frame. The diffuser softens the LED output to remove hotspots and cast even warm light across the width of a canvas, print or photograph hung on the wall below.

Designed for artwork between 60-90cm wide, the Luminous mounts directly to the wall above the frame using concealed fixings, projecting 95mm from the wall surface once installed. The 81cm length covers most medium to large domestic artwork without light spilling beyond the frame edges. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations away from bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor settings.

The chrome finish is polished to a mirror-like reflectivity, pairing cleanly with modern and contemporary interiors where metal accents are already present. The metal housing provides a rigid structure that keeps the LED strip aligned with the artwork below, and dissipates heat from the 18W LED across the length of the fitting. The 3000K colour temperature sits at the warmer end of white light, rendering oil paintings, watercolours and prints with a slight amber cast that complements most domestic gallery walls.

What size artwork does the 81cm length suit?

The Luminous works best with artwork between 60-90cm wide. The light should be slightly narrower than the frame to avoid spill onto the wall, and slightly wider than the canvas to ensure even coverage across the entire image.

Can the Luminous be used with a dimmer switch?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable and should be wired to a standard on-off wall switch or powered continuously from a switched socket.

How is it mounted to the wall?

The Luminous mounts directly to the wall above the artwork using concealed fixings through the chrome backplate. The fitting projects 95mm from the wall once installed, so check clearance from any picture rail or existing frame before fitting.
