Description
The Luminis is an 80cm outdoor bollard light constructed from die-cast aluminium with a grey powder-coated finish and a Pyrex glass diffuser at the head. The bollard houses a single E27 fitting (bulb sold separately) behind the glass, which is surrounded by internal aluminium louvres that direct light downwards and horizontally while reducing glare when viewed from above.
Designed for garden pathways, driveways, courtyard perimeters and commercial forecourts, the 80cm height positions the light source above typical low-level planting and provides enough throw to illuminate a 2-3m stretch of path per bollard when spaced appropriately. The IP65 rating protects the internal components from rain, dust and directed water jets, making the fitting suitable for year-round outdoor exposure in the UK climate.
The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion and impact damage better than pressed steel alternatives, and the grey finish provides a neutral tone that works with both traditional stone paving and contemporary resin-bound surfaces. The Pyrex glass diffuser is more resistant to thermal shock than standard glass, reducing the risk of cracking when cold rain hits a warm lit bollard. The bollard fixes to a ground-level concrete base via pre-drilled holes in the base plate, with cable entry through the base.
The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, CFL or halogen bulbs up to the maximum wattage stated in the specification. Dimmable bulbs can be used with a compatible external dimmer on the supply circuit, allowing light levels to be reduced during late evening hours or adjusted seasonally.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Luminis take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-12W warm white LED bulb rated for outdoor use, providing 500-1000 lumens output per bollard.
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. The Luminis can withstand rain, garden hose spray and pressure washing without water entering the electrical components, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK.
How is the bollard installed?
The base plate fixes to a concrete foundation via pre-drilled holes, with electrical cable entering through the base. Installation requires a qualified electrician to connect the mains supply and ensure the concrete base is level and provides stable fixing points.
Can the light output be dimmed?
Yes, if a dimmable E27 bulb is fitted and the mains supply is connected to a compatible external dimmer switch. The dimming function is controlled by the circuit, not by the bollard itself.
