Description
The Luminis is a 60cm outdoor bollard light with a cylindrical grey die-cast aluminium body and a Pyrex glass diffuser at the head. The glass houses internal aluminium baffles that direct a single E27 bulb's output downward and radially, creating ambient ground-level lighting without upward spill. The IP65 rating seals the fitting against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for UK year-round outdoor installation.
Designed for pathway edging, driveway borders, patio perimeters and garden feature lighting, the 60cm height places the light source below typical eye level when standing, reducing glare while marking routes and boundaries. The bollard mounts on a circular base plate with pre-drilled fixing holes, requiring hard-surface mounting (concrete, paving, decking) or embedment in a shallow foundation for soft ground. The grey powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and corrosion in coastal and wet climates.
The Pyrex glass diffuser withstands thermal cycling from seasonal temperature swings and direct sun exposure without yellowing or cracking. The E27 socket accepts LED bulbs up to the fitting's maximum wattage (see Specification), giving control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the application — warm white 2700K for residential paths, neutral 4000K for commercial access routes. The die-cast aluminium construction gives the bollard a 2.8kg weight that resists wind displacement once fixed.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean?
IP65 certifies the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes the Luminis suitable for UK outdoor use in rain, snow and coastal spray, but it is not rated for submersion or high-pressure washing.
What bulb should I use?
The fitting takes one E27 bulb up to the maximum wattage listed in the Specification table. For pathway and garden lighting, most users choose a warm-white LED between 6W and 10W at 2700K-3000K. Bulbs are sold separately.
How is the bollard mounted?
The circular base plate has pre-drilled fixing holes for surface mounting onto concrete, paving or decking with appropriate fixings. For soft ground installation, embed the base in a shallow concrete foundation or use a proprietary bollard ground spike adapter if one is available for this diameter.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible outdoor dimmer switch or control system. The fitting itself does not include dimming circuitry — dimming depends on the bulb and external control.
