Description
The Luminis is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from die-cast aluminium with a brown powder-coated finish and a clear Pyrex glass diffuser set into the head. The bollard takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind the glass, casting light downward and outward through the transparent lens. The IP65 rating protects the fitting against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for year-round installation in UK gardens, driveways and pathway edges.
Designed for pathways, driveways, garden perimeters and larger patio areas where visibility and definition matter after dark, the 80cm height positions the light source above typical ground-level planting and throws illumination further along a path than shorter 45-60cm bollards. The brown finish integrates with natural landscaping materials (timber decking, terracotta paving, weathered stone) and recedes visually during daylight, leaving the garden planting as the focal point.
The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion in damp coastal and urban environments, and the brown coating is UV-stable to minimise fading under direct sunlight. The 155mm diameter gives the bollard a stable footprint for in-ground mounting (ground spike or concrete base, both require separate installation components). The clear Pyrex glass lens is toughened to resist impact and thermal shock, and can be removed for bulb replacement without dismantling the entire fitting.
Pair with a warm-white E27 LED bulb (2700K-3000K, 6-10W) for functional pathway lighting, or use a clear filament-style bulb to add decorative character visible through the glass. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmable bulb and outdoor dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Luminis take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting, though higher-output bulbs up to the manufacturer's maximum rating can be used where brighter illumination is needed.
Is it suitable for coastal locations?
Yes. The die-cast aluminium body and brown powder-coated finish resist corrosion in damp and salt-laden environments. The IP65 rating protects internal components against water ingress from rain and spray. Regular rinsing with fresh water helps maintain the finish in high-salt coastal areas.
How is the bollard installed?
The Luminis requires either a ground spike or a concrete base for in-ground mounting. Installation components are sold separately. The bollard should be wired by a qualified electrician to outdoor-rated mains cabling, typically run underground in conduit to a junction box or outdoor switch.
Can the glass diffuser be cleaned?
Yes. The clear Pyrex glass lens can be removed from the head for cleaning. Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch the glass surface.
