Description
The Luminis is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from die-cast aluminium with a white powder-coated finish and a cylindrical Pyrex glass diffuser at the head. The diffuser houses internal aluminium louvres that distribute light horizontally across paths and vertically down onto paving, preventing direct glare while spreading a single E27 bulb across a wider area than an unshielded fitting.
Designed for garden paths, driveways, patios and commercial pathways, the 80cm height positions the light source above typical flowerbeds and ground cover without overwhelming smaller gardens. The IP65 rating makes the bollard weatherproof against rain, dust and frost, suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK. The base plate bolts directly to a concrete or paved surface with three fixings, and the cable feeds through the hollow column from below ground level.
The die-cast aluminium construction gives the bollard rigidity without excessive weight, and the white finish reflects daylight during the day while remaining visually neutral against pale render, white-painted fences and light-toned paving. The Pyrex diffuser is heat-resistant and clearer than standard glass, so it maintains light output over time without yellowing. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the stated wattage, allowing flexibility in colour temperature and brightness depending on whether the bollard is used for security lighting, ambient garden lighting, or wayfinding along a path.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean?
IP65 means the bollard is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction. It is suitable for year-round outdoor use in the UK, including exposure to rain, snow and frost.
What bulb does it take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for garden path lighting, or a cooler daylight bulb for security applications.
How is it installed?
The base plate bolts to a solid surface (concrete, paving slab, tarmac) with three fixings. The electrical cable runs through the hollow column from below ground level, typically fed through buried conduit. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Is it dimmable?
The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. Actual dimming capability depends on the bulb type and the dimmer switch used. LED bulbs require a compatible LED dimmer to avoid flickering.
