Description

The Lumara is a 1240mm LED bar wall light with an integrated 20W 3000K LED strip behind an opal acrylic diffuser, housed in a black powder-coated aluminium body. The fitting projects 70mm from the wall and stands 15mm high, creating a low-profile linear light source that washes walls with indirect ambient light rather than casting direct beams.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, corridors and above kitchen worktops where long linear light is needed without ceiling pendants or recessed fittings, the Lumara mounts horizontally on internal walls rated IP20. The 1240mm length makes it suitable for spans above single or double doorways, along gallery walls, or flanking mirrors and artwork. The warm 3000K colour temperature provides a soft white light that complements both modern and traditional interiors.

The powder-coated aluminium body resists surface scratches and maintains the matt black finish over time, while the opal acrylic diffuser spreads the LED strip evenly along the full 1240mm length without visible hotspots or banding. The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg and fixes to the wall with concealed rear-mounted brackets, so no fixings are visible from the front once installed. The non-dimmable LED is rated for 30,000 hours of use and carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.

Is the Lumara suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry internal locations only. It is not rated for bathrooms, outdoor installation, or areas where moisture is present.

Can it be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and operates at full output on standard mains switching only.

What ceiling height does it need?

The Lumara is a wall-mounted fitting, not ceiling-mounted. It projects 70mm from the wall and works in rooms with any ceiling height. Most installations position it 1800-2100mm above floor level to provide indirect ambient light without glare at eye level.

How is it fixed to the wall?

The fitting uses concealed rear-mounted brackets that fix to the wall with screws and plugs. Once the fitting is clipped onto the brackets, no fixings are visible from the front. A qualified electrician is recommended for installation.
