Luma 80cm Outdoor Bollard Light - Brown

The Luma is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from powder-coated metal in a matt brown finish, with a transparent Pyrex glass diffuser at the head. The fitting houses two G9 bulbs (sold separately) behind the glass panel, casting light downwards and outwards across pathways, driveways and garden borders. The IP44 rating protects the internal components from rain and moisture ingress, making the Luma suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK.

Designed for pathways, driveways, patio edges and garden feature lighting, the 80cm height positions the light source above typical ground-level planting while remaining low enough to avoid light spill into neighbouring properties. The bollard mounts onto a concrete foundation or paving slab via a base plate, with the cable run buried or channelled beneath ground level. The brown finish blends into natural garden surroundings during daylight and pairs comfortably with timber fencing, terracotta paving and earth-toned landscaping.

The Pyrex glass diffuser provides a wide beam spread that illuminates a 2-3m radius around the bollard, depending on the wattage of the G9 bulbs used. The powder-coated metal construction resists corrosion in damp outdoor conditions, and the sealed design keeps moisture away from the lamp holders and wiring. The two-bulb configuration allows for symmetrical light distribution, reducing harsh shadows on uneven ground.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Luma takes two G9 bulbs, which are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 2-4W and 2700K-3000K for warm pathway lighting. Check the bulb packaging confirms IP44 compatibility if using non-enclosed G9 capsule bulbs.

Is it suitable for coastal or high-moisture locations?

The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing water, making it suitable for typical UK garden conditions. For coastal locations with salt spray or high-moisture environments, consider applying a protective wax to the metal surfaces annually to extend the finish lifespan.

How is it installed?

The bollard mounts onto a base plate that fixes to a concrete foundation or paving slab. The electrical cable runs beneath ground level, emerging at the base plate connection point. Installation requires mains outdoor-rated cable and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Is the light dimmable?

Yes, the Luma is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible outdoor dimmer switch. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb model chosen.
